Many businesses consider e-mail as important as telephone service. Even traditional brick and mortar organizations have moved to the web-based world for B2B and customer account management. E-mail filtering systems must be designed to handle the load and content profile of diverse users and offer the ability to “move with the trends”. The protection of communication in the present market depends on eliminating the harbingers of spam, UCE, phishing, viruses and other e-mail threats that conspire to reduce profitability, productivity and efficiency.
InGuard is the answer…

What is InGuard
InGuard is InLine’s Spam and Virus filter that is currently handling over 25 million pieces of e-mail per month; well over 89% of this is unsolicited commercial e-mail or “Spam”. Implementation of InLine’s InGuard services allows for the addition of filters over time to help decrease unwanted mail and adapt to future Spam innovations.
Our current measures require each incoming e-mail to pass through over 20 different testing methods and filters which produce a score describing the “spam-like” possibility of each e-mail. By default mail that scores high enough on these tests that it is “unquestionably” Spam will be denied delivery before it reaches you. However, InGuard can manage high-scoring spam according to customer controlled parameters, preventing it from reaching your inbox, or even bypassing filtering entirely for critical mailboxes. Mail that scores as “likely” spam will be quarantined before it reaches the user’s Inbox. Users then get a daily summary of new items added to their quarantine. Releasing, Allowing or Denying the mail is as easy as clicking a link in the e-mail. If the user recognizes the e-mails as undesired, just ignore them and in 7 days they will be deleted automatically.
Occasionally legitimate e-mails are tagged as Spam. These addresses can be reported to the InGuard system via the end user, administrator's web portal, or with the InGuard Outlook Plug In by simply hitting a button inside of Outlook.
E-Mail Archiving
E-Discovery, various regulations like HIPPA or SOX, or just everyday mailbox bloat are leading more and more companies to consider e-mail archiving. However, today's solutions are costly to purchase and maintain, especially for smaller businesses. With InGuard Archive, you can have unlimited archive space with 1 and 7 year retention for a simple monthly fee per mailbox. No big upfront costs and no maintenance. Your mail server will be optimal and your user's will thank you. You will also be ready to protect your business from legal and regulatory challenges.
Business Continuity
Increasingly companies are depending on e-mail as the nervous system of their communications with partners, employees and clients. Downtime is not an option. Even the core InGuard will hold all your mail for 5 days when your mail server or internet is down and nothing will be lost. If you step up to InGuard Pro the time limit goes up to 60 days and your employees will be able to access a web mail interface even when your primary mail server is down. They will send and receive mail just like normal and even see e-mails they got up to 60 days prior to the outage. When your mail server comes back up, any new or sent mail will be transmitted to your mail server automatically so you never miss a beat. |
