InStream
Video is a much better tool for conveying meaning and getting your message across than any other option available on the Internet. Video is immediate, more interesting, and much more efficient in conveying complex or broad concepts. In the past the ability to produce and stream internet to the web has been the province of expensive and proprietary solutions requiring lots of bandwidth and intensive user training in obscure concepts like bit rate, codecs, and HTML programming. For the end consumer it meant a complicated web of different programs and codecs to simply watch a stream, and on anything less than the most expensive internet connections, a picture the size of a postage stamp that for most users did not run smoothly from start to finish.
All that is changed now with InStream! Building on the newest technologies in Streaming Video from Microsoft, Windows Media 9, InStream allows you to stream high quality video in as little as 200K of bandwidth per user. In a single Codec Device, InStream can scale from sending simple screen captures to streaming up to 720p HDTV Video. Video content can be archived and can be accessed by users on demand at any point in the future.
InStream is made up of two primary components, the Codec Appliance which converts the content for presentation to the web, and the Streaming Media Web Server Appliance which handles the archiving, packaging and delivery of the client to the end consumer. Except in specific circumstances, most applications will require at least one of each appliance.
Listed below are a few examples of the potential applications for InStream:
